Sam Shem is a Canadian artist, yoga practitioner, and chef.
Sam teaches food and dessert workshops in both Canada and abroad. His love for food and his passion for teaching is clear in his technique and knowledge of food.
Sam has been a professional pastry chef for 15 years. He has worked in established bakeries, fine dining restaurants, and hotels. During the past few years, Sam has been cooking vegetarian food and making raw and vegan desserts for yoga students with his popular weekly “Saturday Sweets” events.
Sam has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. In 2010 he met his teacher Saraswathi Jois and practices Ashtanga Yoga at the KPJAYI in Mysore, India. For the past five years, Sam has been Saraswathi’s primary assistant helping her with students from all over the world.
Sam has an MA in Fine Art from Goldsmith’s College in London, England. He has exhibited his artwork both nationally and internationally.
